Sounding Future

Graz, AT

An independent platform at the intersection of music and technology. Sounding Future brings together articles, a 3D audio streaming environment and a learning lab — and with Worlds, a place to build and walk through spatial sound environments in the browser.

Sounding Future is a platform at the intersection of music and technology, built around one idea: that innovative music creation, audio technology and research deserve sustained, serious attention.

The platform has three layers. Editorial collects articles, essays and project documentation from composers, researchers and practitioners. AudioSpace is a dedicated environment for listening to and presenting spatial and immersive music, with works by composers from around the world. The Learning Lab offers structured courses on 3D audio, spatial composition and sound technology.

Worlds extends this into space: composers build walkable 3D sound environments, and visitors explore them in the browser with headphones. Sounding Future commissions, curates and produces collections of these worlds — on its own and together with festivals, museums and institutions.

Sounding Future is independent — not owned by investors, media groups or parent institutions. It is sustained through Pro memberships, public project funding and voluntary support.
